A simple style hack that instantly updated an old cardigan for Christmas

My outfits haven’t really had much of a festive touch lately but this style idea made an old cardigan feel brand new and, a little bit Christmassy!

I’m obsessed with this Red Cardigan from Next, it’s a few seasons old now and has definitely seen some love - thankfully it’s kept its shape and over the past couple of years has washed extremely well. I can’t say I have dived head-first into the whole festive outfits vibes, sure, I have indulged in a new pair of boots and picked up a sparkly dress from my local charity shop but other than that, my festive cheer hasn’t fully infiltrated my wardrobe.

I usually throw this cardigan on for casual days which means it gets teamed with Converse and trackies A LOT. however, thanks to it’s festive colour I saw it in a different light at the weekend. Paired with my Levis Ribcage Jeans (which are another level BTW, a must have for any denim collection), a roll neck, printed ankle boots and then finished with a black and gold waist-belt transforming the shape completely, this cardigan took on a new lease of life.

It felt comfortable and warm still, but thanks to a cinched in waist, it felt dressy. Amazing what a belt can do. What do you think of my new take on a chunky, casual cardigan? Christmas worthy?
