I can't get enough of this bag trend (late to the party, I know)

I appreciate that bum bags are not a new thing, but in the past year I succumbed to the trend and haven’t looked back.

Whilst we were travelling, Matt always said how I should be carrying a bum bag. Not in the fashions sense way, in the practical sense way; so all our worldly belongings were safe and stuck to my chest. But for some reason I wasn’t down for it. The bum bag bit, not keeping our possessions safe, I was obvs very down for that.

However, as soon as I hopped off the plane and gleefully plonked myself back onto London soil, my love for styling an outfit, reading Who What Wear and looking clean and tidy was back. And slowly with it, came a need to try out this IT accessory.

I bought a black bumbag from Primark (I didn’t want to go all out just in case this trend wasn’t my bag - sorry couldn’t help myself, ahem) and to be quite frank I haven’t taken it off since. Much to the annoyance of Matt who seemed to think the whole inspiration behind the purchase was him. No babes, it was my reignited love with the OOTD hashtag on Insta and an eagerness to tap into a trend seeing as I hadn’t looked through a copy of Grazia for MONTHS!

I couldn’t quite (and still can’t) get over how much this little carry piece goes with. Honestly, mom jeans and a funky shirt, it goes. Floral dress and DMs, it goes. Skinny jeans, boots and a pub-worthy top, it goes. It’s the do-it-all bag I never knew I needed.

That’s the trick to a bum bag, wear it with outfits that you wouldn’t expect to wear it with. Less Disney Land tourist vibes, more London street style star shizz. Ya get me.
