The half zip fleece that's not just reserved for dads

I don’t know about you lot but my dressing habits have taken a rather casual turn of late.

I mean, it’s 100% the weather. But, it’s also coupled with the fact that we have just moved into our first London flat together, which means I basically never want to venture outside. Netflix and chill on your own sofa is honestly bloody marvellous. Whack in a foot rub and well, you can see why leaving the house just seems so unappealing. But come on, I can’t hibernate forever. I can do a damn good job of trying but life is life and there’s a world outside to dress for.

Talking of getting dressed, I recently welcomed a rather snugly fleece into my wardrobe. No no, it’s not from a charity shop (whoda-thunk it) it’s from Matalan - a shop I have frequented more of late due to some good interior discounts they had on offer. Naturally, after the cushion and bed sheet purchasing I found myself wandering through the womanswear section and then all of a sudden back at the till with this Chevron Half zip fleece bad-boy in my hands.

I am what you would say, a conscious shopper, but sometimes those impulse purchases just happen and they feel rather wonderful. Needless to say, I have not taken this fleece off. Who knew that something typically my dad would wear has now found a loving place in my wardrobe.

Paired with an Irish tweed full-length coat, my trusty DMs, a classic pair of skinny jeans and finished off with a baker boy cap (oh, and a plait!) I was ready to embrace the great outdoors. Not for too long, mind, it wasn’t long before I was back in my fluffy slippers and dressing gown.
