From that Frankie Shop sell-out piece to amazing dupes like this New Look Quilted Khaki Jacket, it’s safe to say, everyone and their A/W wardrobes want to get their hands on a quilted jacket this season, including me.

I very much love a new trend and am likely to jump on it, or instead, I want to challenge myself and source something similar from a charity shop - there’s is something so satisfying about bagging a similar of-the-moment piece but with a way less price tag. That being said, it’s not always possible!

The Hoxton Quilted Jacket from the Barbour and House of Hackney collaboration really was love at first sight, I added it to my bag and bought it within - no joke - about 2 minutes. I get like that every now and then with clothes - when you know, you know.

The other reason that it felt so ‘me’ was that it feels like a fusion of my old London life and my new rural life (I appreciate that sounds weird!) - I have just moved from London to the Oxfordshire countryside and it’s like, the countryside but with an edge. I do own a Rydale Wax Jacket and I can see why local folk all own something the same or similar, they are very walk appropriate and, surprisingly warm. But with this Barbour jacket, it’s practical and functional but with an element of cool. I’ll take that!

Now, as a fairly new dog mum having big pockets is necessary. Whether it’s a ball, treats or a bottle of water, I need to be equipped for a good dog walk and big pockets that can hold all of that PLUS my phone and keys are details.

The stylish, longline silhouette is warm yet not bulky, and the easy-fasten poppers are all individually branded. The piste de la resistance lies in the lining, designed by the interiors label House of Hackney - it features a nature-inspired print that is beautiful and adds an understated pop of colour.
