The H&M check shacket addition for your autumnal wardrobe

I bought this H&M check shacket a few weeks back - Although it‘s not something that will keep you warm, the soft weave and brushed finish make it feel pretty cosy, especially when layered over a hoodie.

I have found this autumn to be so lovely, the sun seems to have kept its hat on and the fresh crisp days are just divine - it has to be my favourite season. Another reason is that I just love to layer; coats and jackets are my most favourite thing to buy so whilst we’ve been experiencing some nicer days, shackets are a great transitional layer before the proper coats are out in full force.

This particular check shacket from H&M is a winner because of its pockets - in my eyes, anything with pockets is a winner. On this particular autumn day, I threw it over a simple black tee and my Nasty Gal flares, a ridiculously comfy outfit that is dog walk appropriate!

Anyway, how are you all?

I’ve been enjoying sharing online so much more lately because for the 1st time in a long time I feel totally settled. I’m so affected by my space and what surrounds me every day and being in our new home has had such a positive impact on my mind. I adore our new area and trust me, the fact I don’t live in London anymore has not escaped me; I thought I’d never ever leave that bloody amazing city but hey, here we are and unexpectedly happy for doing so!

I also can’t forget our van life stint in between London and our new place. It was 7 months of highs and lows - whilst it was fun and not having huge overheads was a great feeling, in the end, it wasn’t for me. I still can’t believe I lasted 7 months but life is trial and error and as much as I love our van conversion, I think full-time van living was just not my bag.

The van life dream can be quite glamorised online and I definitely fell into that trap… Initially, I felt inspired by that freeing lifestyle that is depicted online with beautiful visuals and that digital nomad vibe. But as Matt isn’t a remote worker and is all over the place at different filming locations, we couldn’t live that Instagrammablel van life lifestyle which meant weekdays were spent pitched up at a campsite. It was a beautiful campsite, don’t get me wrong, but after a while began to take its toll on me.

But hey, I gave it a go and that’s all that mattered. Turns out I’m more of a homebody than I thought and space is a really big deal for me LOL. I was a little reluctant to say that out loud for so long as I didn’t want to appear materialistic or high-maintenance but look, enjoying your space and privacy, liking nice china plates and wanting to have hanging rails for all my charity shop bargains is not a bad thing!
